Steel Cut Oats in Instant Pot

I prefer the texture of steel cut oats to the regular quick oats. While cooking quick oats takes just a few minutes, cooking steel cut oats on a stove top takes a bit of time and also you have to stir often to prevent burning. Using the Instant Pot to make steel cut in the mornings is just quick and easy and compared to the pressure cooker when there is starch that tends to spray if you are not careful with the amount of water. Look here for the pressure cooker method.

In the Instant Pot you can put it to cook when you go to bed on a delay and in the morning you can add the milk and nuts and your delicious breakfast is ready few minutes afteryou wake up. I start the Instant Pot and go about doing other stuff and in about 20-25 minutes the oat meal is ready.

Get the steel cut oats, dried fruits and nuts and palm sugar ready.
Cook the steel cut oats in the Instant Pot for 10 minutes, once the steam is naturally released open the pot put it in Saute mode and add in the milk.
Add in the dried nuts and dried fruits.
Cook for 5-6 minutes or till the required consistency and turn off the heat.
