Coimbatore to Srinagar - Fifth stop - Indore - Goat Seekh Kebab

From Burhanpur they travelled to Indore and this was the leg of the journey we were eagerly looking forward to. The group has been going strong. They reduced the miles for the festival season but the workouts continued.

The recipe DH had chosen was seekh kebab. This is a long pending recioe and never had been attempted. We had some minced goat meat that needed a suitable recipe. So everything came together. The taste and texture of meat from animals that you have raised is a level about. I am always uneasy about eating animals we have raised, which I will talk about in a subsequent blog post but in this post we will concentrate on making delicious kababs.

Good food comes from quality ingredients is again proven true here. With just a few ingredients this tasty kebab is made in no time. I also learned the difference between Sheesh and Seekh. Sheesh is when cubed meat is used and Seekh is when ground meat is used.

Here is the recipe in pictures,
Prepare the ground meat. Shape the meat on the wooden skewers.
Place the meat skewers on a grill and cook for about 5 minutes on one side and turn it around and cook for another 10 minutes or till the meat is cooked.
Make sure not to overcook the meat.
A very easy recipe to make if you have a grill handy. Firing up the grill takes longer than getting everything else ready. Serve with some salad and butter cooked rice for a fantastic weekend meal.
